Hello, I'm Rachel Horncastle the 2025 Community Independent candidate for Cottesloe.

I have lived in the Cottesloe electorate for 30 years and raised my family here – this is my home.  It has been a great privilege to work as a local family doctor for 25 years.  I care very much about my community and our beautiful environment. 

As a Community Independent, I was asked to stand as a candidate to represent what matters to the people in our electorate - without answering to a political party or their donors.  It’s grassroots and people-centred. 

There is power in bringing our community together to address the issues most important to us with transparency, integrity and genuine consultation.

The wishes of our community have not been heard – and enough is enough. 

My key priorities include: 

• Sustainable development
• Public Health (particularly mental health)
• Action on Climate & Environment
